We, Blossom and Bill are passionate about our relationship between chocolate and luurve so- to celebrate Valentine’s Day- loyal fans of the range are being urged to treat themselves and their lover to a pair of new mugs and to try Blossom and Bill’s latest recipe 'Chilli Hot Chocolate for Red Hot Lovers'.

Blossom’s Chilli Hot Chocolate for Red Hot Lovers

Soak some red hot chillies with a pint of lukewarm milk (not too many! A couple is good). Melt a four ounce bar of the best dark luxurious chocolate you can find and whisk out with the same quantity of cream in a pan. Top up with the chilli infused milk, whisking all the time. Pour into your two favourite mugs (Blossom & Bill ones of course!) Stir with a Madagascan vanilla stick. With a dollop of whipped cream and shavings of chocolate – this is the best hot chocolate recipe ever. If you think you can come up with a better one let us know about it. If we agree, the contributor wins a luxury box of Blossom and Bill cups and a delicious hamper of Montezuma chocolate.

At Isak we make beautiful happy things for the home because we adore thinking that - in a small way - we are creating a wonderful world for our families to live in. A world where our children can feel safe, loved and cared for. That is why we were so moved to be introduced to the work of Children on the Edge (COTE) and why we are so excited about telling you about our new friendship.

Children on the Edge is a lean, grassroots, local charity with a global reach which exists to help the most marginalised and vulnerable children in the world - particularly children without parental support. Children who are on the edge.

Of course when we care for our own children we are preoccupied with whether they are warm enough, getting enough sleep, doing their homework, eating their greens... At Isak we cannot bear the idea that there are so many children in the world who have no parents to care for them and who cannot count on even the basics - food, shelter and security. We had to do something so, in conversation with our friends at Children on the Edge, we came up with a cunning plan which lets our customers look after their own children at the same time as giving these other vulnerable children their childhood back too.

After summer we're full of stories. In case you haven't read the last one we wrote here it is in it's unedited version.

My Grandad is a fisherman!

My grandad smokes a pipe he has carved out of driftwood. It’s old and nobbly like tree roots or a troll’s knees. My grandad has a fishing net that he made out of thousands of spiders' webs. He puts it in his boat and he rows and he rows his fishing boat. All sorts of things get stuck in his net. Once he caught a mermaid. She was old and sad but he brought her to his cabin and stroked her fin and told her stories of the sea all night long until she smiled again. Then she winked, splashed her tail and - woosh - she was gone.
   My grandad is a fisherman. The very best kind of fisherman. He grows tiny crayfish in his beard. He talks to trolls and has a little shark living in his belly. With his bear tooth he calls the wind, stops the rain and tickles the sun out. My grandad has sailed the seven seas. He’s old now but he’s still got a girlfriend in every harbour.
   If you sit quietly and very still like my grandad, you can see the troll children come out to play at dusk. They mumble and grumble and are quite difficult to understand, but if you, like my grandad, spend most of your time in the silence of the forest you would soon learn their ways.
   In the shadow of sunset when the mushrooms and toadstools start singing, the troll children will sit down to their tea. They eat steamed sea snake and grilled boatmen with blueberries on top and they wash it all down with sunkissed raindrops. The toadstools will keep singing and singing, until singing grows quieter and quieter, and they have sung all the troll children and each other to sleep.
   When the children are sleeping the pappa troll invites the mamma troll up to dance. He lights a fire next to the lake and in complete silence with just the crackling of flames, they dance around with content smiles on their faces. Then, when the dancing ends, they tie all the troll children's tails together, all six of them. (They have a tendency to sleepwalk. ) They all curl up and with them the whole forest goes to sleep.
   Only then does my grandad get up from his moss clad rock, his pipe in his pocket, his back bent. For he has watched over the life of the lake and his forest, and it is time for him too to have a rest and dream up tales for another day.

Living Design Fair

ISAK and Blossom & Bill created a WOW in South Korea when they visited the Living Design Fair at COEX in Seoul last week. Thanks to Geunha Park at Rooming. There was loads of interest, and they loved the sense of design with colour and fun. I think ISAK will be making a mark throughout South Korea now, if only we could add a bit of colour to the North!

The Tend Bulletin in April's Grand Design magazine identifies the New Geometric as "the hottest look right now..." and includes ISAK's Nova wallpaper in their selection (5). Dee Iva is spot on identifying this new trend, we can see it in all the latest design house collections now. It is constantly interesting to us how similar design styles are presented from a variety of sources and create a "trend". It is like that feeling is "just out there", ready to be captured and presented to the consumer. Have you spotted any New Geometric products?...
